The tradition of the Ligas family with wine lasts already a few decades. The winery is located in Pella, northern Greece, where Thomas (father), Melissanthi (daughter) and Jason (son) Ligas experiment with local varieties and try to make wines that reflect both the terroir of the region and their personality.

With a philosophy that stays true to natural winemaking and biodynamic farming, they create wines that shine in the world's best restaurants, are sought after and, of course, are sold out before bottling.

Xi-Ro 2019 is that kind of wine. The blend is 95% Xinomavro and 5% Roditis, vinified separately and then blended and aged for 10 months in old, large oak barrels. The result is juicy and truly unique!

Vibrant aromas of tomato, strawberry, framboise and cranberry mingle with animal and botanical notes. Cinnamon, lavender and smoke add to the unique bouquet.

The palate has medium body, present acidity and moderate but polished tannins. Juicy red fruits such as strawberry, pomegranate, cherry and cranberry are accompanied by notes of herbs, tomato and tea leaves.

Enjoy Xi-Ro with our homemade seasonal chutney, some delicious Greek cheese (dependant on seasonality and availability) and carob breaksticks.
